Bluewater Planisphere Telling the story of time through stars

Telling the story of time through stars. Situated at the entrance to the Bluewater Shopping Centre, Planisphere is a unique clock that displays the hour, week, month and year, together with the current position of celestial bodies above the shopping centre. Created in partnership with Eric Kuhne & Associates, Planisphere is inspired by the ancient scientific instruments which enabled and supported celestial navigation. This beautiful timepiece is engraved and fabricated from infilled glass, polished stainless steel and powder coated steel. More importantly, Planisphere brilliantly lifts spirits and resolutely places Bluewater on the map as a landmark leisure destination.

The night sky

The inspiration behind Planisphere is the ever-changing position of the stars. By linking Bluewater to its celestial location, Planisphere gives Bluewater a unique position in the universe. Planisphere tells the story of time through the stars, and is a divine statement of intent for Bluewater that demonstrates confidence and ambition.
